Achieving Potential Scholarship for Distinction
A scholarship for students currently studying or intending to study the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine. If you have a low income and are keen to pursue medicine, you may be eligible for this grant.
Am I eligible?
You must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen
- A New Zealand citizen
- Australian permanent resident
- Australian humanitarian visa holder
You must meet the following criteria:
- Must achieve ATAR score of 90.00 (80.00 for Indigenous students).
- Continuing students with a high-distinction average (80% or above).
- Commencing or continuing Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine* full-time undergraduate student at a Monash campus in Australia.
- Have a low income.
* Including the graduate-entry Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine at Monash Gippsland.
Benefits
- $6000 per annum (48 credit points of study) paid for five years.

Selection criteria
- Award based on academic achievement and need.
- Consideration is given if, in addition to being a low income earner, you experience other forms of educational disadvantage.
To retain this scholarship:
- You must maintain full-time enrolment.
How to apply
- VTAC applicants - If you think you might be eligible for an equity scholarship, ensure that you apply for the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) through VTAC between Monday 31 July (9am) and Friday 6 October (5pm) to be automatically considered
- For current Monash students, apply directly to Monash
- This scholarship cannot be deferred.
